Dual vocational training is a key vocational training pathway and is unique in terms of its combination of theory and practice. Yet, young people underestimate the potential of this pathway, which has led to a decline in the number of training places filled.

Early and practice-orientated vocational orientation can give young people an insight into occupational fields and support them in the process of making a personal career decision. This is where the project's plans come in, focussing on practical contacts between schools and training companies. The aim of the project is to show young people, parents and teachers the opportunities of dual vocational training and thus broaden their perspectives.

Results:

• Training trainees to become IHK training ambassadors in schools (with materials for career-orientated lessons)
• Conceptualisation and training of young professionals as IHK career ambassadors in schools
• Companies as practical ambassadors (workshops for company representatives to organise school events with practical business teaching topics)
• Promotion of cooperation between schools and companies
• Coordination and placement of ambassadors in schools
• Participation in the digital training campaign ‘Moin future’
• Conception of a ‘career guidance time-out’
